Industrial Office Floor Transformation: From Carpet Glue to Seamless Epoxy Coating

At G8 Solutions Pte Ltd, we recently took on an exciting floor transformation project for an industrial office unit that was in desperate need of a makeover. The floor had seen better days, the original floor faced several challenges, with carpet glue stubbornly stuck to the surface and holes scattered around from partition walls that had been removed.

Step 1: Surface Preparation works – Floor Grinding | Carpet Glue Removal

We kicked things off with some serious floor grinding works to get rid of stubborn carpet glue. This step is key to getting a nice, clean surface, which sets the stage for everything else. Once the glue was gone, we patched up all those unsightly holes left from the hacking. By the time we were done, the floor was looking smooth and ready for the next phase.

Step 2: Heavy-Duty Epoxy – Built to Last

Since the office space deals with a lot of chemicals, we suggested going with a heavy-duty 3-layer epoxy coating, which offers excellent chemical resistance. Epoxy can stand up to all kinds of abuse—chemicals, impact, wear—you name it.

Here’s the game plan:

1 layer of primer to make sure the epoxy sticks perfectly to the floor.

2 top coats in RAL7035 Grey. This color not only looks sleek but also gives the floor extra durability.

Step 3: Epoxy Coating - Smooth as Silk Application

To get that flawless, seamless finish, we used special lint-free woven rollers from Titan Floor—specifically made for epoxy work. These rollers help avoid roller marks, leaving the floor with a smooth, professional look that’s easy on the eyes.

Step 4: Staircase Refresh – Don’t Forget the Details

We didn’t stop with just the floor! We also gave the internal staircase, which links both storeys, a fresh coat of epoxy paint. Now, not only is it sturdy and durable, but it also looks great and is easy to maintain.
